eating, sleeping, and sitting!

These are three things that Bing has decided she doesn't like anymore! Although you can't tell by the looks of her, my little Chinese dumpling is on a hunger strike! She absolutely refuses to eat! Well, at least the things I want her to eat! She still loves popsicles, marshmallows, ice cream, fruit snacks, and goldfish, but she won't eat the things she used to love! Eggs, noodles, cheerios, bananas, grilled cheese, strawberries, spaghetti, and her very favorite, mac & cheese! I think part of the reason is she just doesn't have time! Bing is a busy girl and is always going going going! Yesterday I was so worried about her not eating I used a little reverse psychology on her! I sat down with a bowl of cheerios and banana and started eating it in front of her making yummy sounds and smacking my lips! It worked! She was up in my lap wanting some and started making yummy sounds too, it was so cute! Well after about four bites she had had enough! She does still take a night bottle of whole milk and sometimes one in the morning so at least I know she's not going to starve!

As for sleep, well, it has never been her favorite thing but lately she has been horrible! She refuses to take a nap during the day and now she has been passing out around 5pm and sleeping until 8pm and then staying up until midnight and getting up wanting to play around 4am! Ha, is she kidding me? No way, girlie, mamma needs her beauty sleep! Usually I just stick her binky in her mouth and rock her with her blanky for about 10 minutes and she is out again, thank God! Then she is up and raring to go around 7am! I can't wait until she gets over this horrible phase! I know the days of her taking two naps a day are over, but OIY, this is ridiculous!

Now for the sitting part! Bing absolutely refuses to sit in her booster seat, we ditched the high chair a few weeks ago as she wouldn't sit in that either! She is also trying to worm her way out of the grocery cart and now is starting to wiggle out of her stroller! Thank God she still likes her carseat! (I probably just jinxed myself with that!) Ahhhhhhhh, this is horrible when I have a huge cart of groceries! The last time we went to the store I had nearly everything opened in my cart trying to bribe her to sit! There were nilla wafers, yogurt bites, fruit snacks and cheetos as far as the eye could see! Oh and of course, I got the cart with the wonky wheel! So there I am a cart full of groceries a squirming 18 mos old, food everywhere, and a cart that wants to steer sideways! I had two choices, to laugh or to cry! It was so ridiculous I just started laughing! Well, Bing started laughing too! That cheesy grin of hers was all I needed to realize that this had been what I had waited for for so long! It was actually a heartfelt and silly moment all rolled into one! Too funny!
Okay here is what you want the most, pictures of our sweet girl!

Happy 18 month Birthday! Mmmmm, I'm lov'in me some frosting!
Give me a kiss!
When I don't have a binky, toes are the next best thing!
Pretty girl!

she's a real wild child!

Need I say more? These photos are proof of the reason I have been such a bad blogger! Kaelin Bing Wen keeps me on my toes, for sure! Bing has been home for 8 months now and it is amazing how she has adjusted so well to her new life! It is just truly incredible how much she has changed and grown since our Gotcha Day! This baby girl is hardly a baby anymore! She is almost 18 mos old now and is growing and changing by leaps and bounds everyday! Bing A Ling is running (forget walking!) everywhere and climbing whatever she can! She is something else! Her favorite thing, still, is being outside. The weather is finalllllly getting a bit warmer here so she doesn't need her hat and mittens anymore (well, she does need them at night still for walks in the stroller!) Poor baby always goes and gets them when she wants to go out! She probably thinks she has to wear them forever!

I had the best Mother's Day ever on Sunday! I had the best gift a mother could ever have! All of my kids were home at the same time under the same roof! What made it most special was that Kaelin was finally home! After 4 years of starting our adoption process our little Asian Princess was here to celebrate! I am so thankful to God for this little miracle he has given to us! She is the absolute light of our lives!

my first mother's day kiss!

more kisses! (yes, i am reading a trashy magazine! thanks, bunny!)

playing outside and shopping at the mall!

Except for the last few days, it has been in the 50s and 60s here! Bing a Ling looooooves being outside! She is so darn cute running around and riding her pony! There is only one problem, though, she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth! From rocks to rotten crab apples, there is nothing she isn't willing to give a taste! The worst thing she has taste tested is bird poop! Yep, she sure did! We were in the front yard and while I was inspecting my azaleas to see if they survived the winter, she bent down and picked up a dried pile and put it straight into her mouth! Thank goodness she had a good river of drool pouring from her mouth so it kind of just slid right out! YUCK!
I started Bing in Gymboree a couple of weeks ago and she really likes it! At first she clung to me like a baby baboon, but now she is having fun going down the slides and climbing thru the tunnels and singing songs! She has also made some new friends there! Bing also made another new friend named Lily! Gary and I met Lily's mom and dad, Rachel and Jeff, at our first international adoption class back in May of '05! They ended up getting logged into China a month before us and got there referral for Lily 5 months before us! How crazy is that! Anyway, Rachel and I met at the Somerset Mall on Wednesday and let the girls play together for the first time! Bing and Lily were so cute together walking around! Sweet little Lily with her Nordstrom's bag and Bing holding her hand! It was priceless!

Into Everything!

Literally! Our little "whirlwind" is into everything and toddling everywhere! I rarely have time to post as I spend my days chasing right behind her! We are just blown away by how smart our little Bing is! She can now say mama, dada, hi, ball, uh oh, and no no. She also knows the signs for juice, milk, more, all done, eat, yes and no. She is so good at figuring things out and putting things together! I have to change all of our outlet plugs because she knows how to pull them all out! While I, on the other hand, struggle to get them out! We put a gate up to keep her off the stairs, but that doesn't stop our fearless little daredevil! She just climbs the outside of the steps, YIKES! Now that she is walking everywhere, although, she is convinced that she can run, I feel like putting a helmet and pads on her to keep her from getting hurt! She has had a few minor booboos, but nothing an icepack and some kisses couldn't fix! She is so cute, when she falls and bumps her head she reaches up and rubs it and goes on about her merry way! I had to postpone her pictures I had scheduled because she took a nose dive into the stair banister and banged up her lip and chin the day before! Bing is a force to be reckoned with for sure, and we love her soooooooooooooo much! We still just can't get over how perfect she is for our family, she is our Bing-A-Ling(her newest nickname!)and we can't imagine life without her now! Marcus said it best a couple of days ago! He said, "What the heck did we do before the Bing-A-Ling?" I said, "You know I just can't remember!"

Happy Chinese New Year! (a little late!) And Random Bing Cuteness!

Oh my gosh, does time fly when you are hav'in fun! On Monday of this week we celebrated Chinese New Year with our little Asian princess! It is the year of the ox! Gary and I are both born in this year! (I'll keep the date a secret!) We had so much fun decorating our house with Chinese Lanterns and made some really yummy pork dumplings! (talk about time consuming and tedious to make!) They were well worth it though and Bing loved them! We just couldn't believe we finally had our sweet little daughter and sister too celebrate with this year after waiting for sooooooo long! We all sat around the kitchen table eating and enjoying our sweet girl, who was well aware that she was being talked about and laughed at so she really hammed it up! Words really can't even begin to describe how much we all love Bing! She is truly the light of our lives!
Here are some pics of her taken in the last couple of weeks! Enjoy!
