Winter is boring. Ever see that movie, "Ground Hog Day?" Yeah, that's pretty much the way things are around here! Gary and I are not skiiers, snowmobilers, or skaters, mall walkers, bowlers, or movie goers, nor will we ever be, so that leaves us with very little to do when the weather is bleak. We did celebrate the beginning of Chinese New Year and Valentine's day last Sunday which broke up the monotony a little. We spent Saturday cleaning and sweeping all the bad luck out of the house. On Sunday our whole family celebrated and it was great fun until I was struck down with an attack of food poisoning or the flu (still not sure which)! I felt crappy and kept denying my impending doom until about 2:00 am, Monday. That's when all Hell broke loose and lasted thru Monday. I will spare you the gory details, but I will probably never eat another eggroll or Kung Pao chicken as long as I live! Anyhow, I am better now, and thankful that my baby girl didn't catch it! She is one tough little cookie! Since we have been home she has never been sick! Not a fever, runny nose, or cough, nothing but a picture of health, so far! I don't even have a problem saying that for fear of jinxing myself because she has been exposed to so many illnesses and has never caught anything! I guess being in an orphanage for 10 months has some advantage! This girl is superhuman!
