I guess you could say Bingy is over her dislike for the feel of sand! At first she wanted nothing even to do with touching it let alone getting in! Look at her now, she is like'n this stuff now! It is kind of a pain though, because every time she plays in her sandbox she wants to take off her pants, socks and shoes! The day I took this pic it was unseasonably warm, we have even had a little bit of snow since I took it! She still insists on stripping to get in! Arg! I also included some pics of her enjoying her water table! Funny story about her water table: Last week we got home from a walk and Bingy wanted to play in her water table on the front porch. Only when we came around front, the water table was gone! I had to take a double take and then said, "what the...(earmuffs Bingy!)!!" I looked all over thinking some how the wind had carried it off, but that made no sense since it was full of water only the day before! Then I spotted a note on my door and I knew immediately what happened! I totally forgot that I promised I would set some stuff out to donate for the Purple Heart! They, evidently, thought the water table was the donation, water and toys included! BTW, whenever the PH calls they always tell you to put a sign on the items you want donated clearly labled "Purple Heart"! So, how stupid, right? I mean what dimwit would take a toddlers water table filled with water and toys? I immediately called them and told them about their blunder, and you won't believe the response I got! "Was it on your front porch? Well, then that is why they took it!" I demanded that they bring it back, but the girl on the other end (I could just see her shrugging her shoulders!) said it might not be possible because that truck was already in Detroit being unloaded! Honestly, the truth of the matter is, I really didn't care that much about the table it was the stacking cups that were in it that I really wanted back! I had bought them about a year into our wait and they were one the toys that Bingy first played with in China! If they had not been in it, I would have said, fine no biggy considered it a donation and bought another water table off Amazon for 30 bucks! But I wanted my stacking cups back! So I pleaded with the girl to at least find those and give them back, I would even pay the postage! She said she couldn't promise anything! I was heartsick! I know it sounds nuts to be so sentimental over something so trivial, but you understand, right? Well, low and behold the next morning there, on our front porch, appeared Bingy's water table and beloved stacking cups all neatly nestled and taped together! Oops did I say stupid? I take it all back! Purple Heart deserves a round of applause! Now, when they call for a donation, I know not to forget and NOT to have any of Bingy's toys on the front porch when they come a call'in!

i love my new sandbox...
Nothing says spring like a new sandbox! All this great weather we have been having prompted me to go out and get Bingy something to play with outside and this is what we ended up with. Now, keeping the sand in the box, er bug, is not really a concept she has grasped yet! She really does likes digging and slinging it, but does not want to actually get in nor does she like getting sand on her hands or any part of her body! I have been trying to get her to brush her hands together if they get a little sandy, but so far she is not loving the way this stuff feels! Now I know what you are thinking... but let me tell you to know my girl is to love my girl, yeah, that is sooooo like my little Bingy! We also bought a water table which is sitting on the front porch (sorry no pics yet!) Now this is an entirely different story! Bingy looooooves playing in the water! The only problem is it is still a bit chilly and her little hands get cold and her clothes get soaking wet! So, when her lips turn a lovely purplish, we head in and get some warm dry clothes on and watch some Pooh!

my busy girl...
Bingy loves to cook! She loves being in the kitchen, whether it be baking, cleaning, or putting dishes up out of the dishwasher, she is there! She's not as much into toys as she is into more creative play, like Playdough, painting, stickers, coloring, sorting, and basically anything having to do with helping mommy. She also loves to clean! Give this girl a wet soapy sponge and she's happy! She also likes to Swiffer the floors! Not only is Bingy going to be a fabulous domestic goddess someday, she is also so smart she scares me sometimes! Last night Gary pulled a bunch of scrap paper he got from work out of his briefcase and gave it to me to let Bingy color on. Mind you, she was asleep so she didn't see him give it to me. This morning I asked her if she wanted to color with her markers and pulled out the paper he had given me. She immedietly started saying, "Dada,Dada,Dada!" She recognized the letterhead to his company! She also knows most of her colors and can count to 10! I just love my girl!

catching up.....
making Chinese coconut pudding! (thanks for the recipe Auntie Stephe!)
our CNY feast
whole fish representing family togetherness(your suppose to steam it, but we smoked it instead)
helping mommy make the pudding
eating long noodles
bundled up to play outside

Winter is boring. Ever see that movie, "Ground Hog Day?" Yeah, that's pretty much the way things are around here! Gary and I are not skiiers, snowmobilers, or skaters, mall walkers, bowlers, or movie goers, nor will we ever be, so that leaves us with very little to do when the weather is bleak. We did celebrate the beginning of Chinese New Year and Valentine's day last Sunday which broke up the monotony a little. We spent Saturday cleaning and sweeping all the bad luck out of the house. On Sunday our whole family celebrated and it was great fun until I was struck down with an attack of food poisoning or the flu (still not sure which)! I felt crappy and kept denying my impending doom until about 2:00 am, Monday. That's when all Hell broke loose and lasted thru Monday. I will spare you the gory details, but I will probably never eat another eggroll or Kung Pao chicken as long as I live! Anyhow, I am better now, and thankful that my baby girl didn't catch it! She is one tough little cookie! Since we have been home she has never been sick! Not a fever, runny nose, or cough, nothing but a picture of health, so far! I don't even have a problem saying that for fear of jinxing myself because she has been exposed to so many illnesses and has never caught anything! I guess being in an orphanage for 10 months has some advantage! This girl is superhuman!
